Training & Education

Here at Beyond the Scars, we are dedicated to provide education and awareness around self-harm.  The training is delivered from the service user’s perspective while looking at statistics & research but also, involving and incorporating professional & clinical aspects.  Training can be tailored and flexible to make sure we can deliver the best service as possible.  As well as enabling others to understand why individuals may self harm, we hope to tackle the stigma by challenging stereotypes to ensure an increase in awareness and understanding.

We always advise a full day training due to the amount of information to be covered; which is a fixed price of £400.  However, if required we can deliver the full day training over two half days, a half day, or shorter sessions from 2-3 hours.  We can also deliver a pilot for a small charge.  We allow up to 20 people per cohort and are happy to discuss a discount on block bookings.

Courses can be adapted to cater to anyone who cares for or who is working with someone who self harms.

The facilitator delivering the training has lived experience of self harm, as well as experience in delivering training & presentations to Wigan police, school teachers & council staff as well as psychiatric ward based staff.  We are in the process of linking up with CAMHS to deliver a joint approach.
